Meet the New JOIN Plan: Your Complete Training Picture

Sep 28, 2026

At JOIN, we work every day to improve your training experience. Every new feature is more than the finished product you eventually see. Behind it are your ideas, difficult decisions, technical challenges, changing plans and plenty of small wins.
So instead of showing you what the new JOIN Plan can do, we will take you behind the scenes. You will see how your feedback shaped the product, how we turned that feedback into something useful and how people from across JOIN worked together to bring it to life.
I’m Remy, Product Manager at JOIN, and this is how a dashboard became a complete training companion.

It started with one page
When we launched the JOIN Plan beta, it was a simple one-page dashboard showing your essential training metrics. Your feedback quickly showed us that you wanted more: your complete plan, more in-depth metrics, long-term progress and a clearer view of where your training could take you.
We used that feedback to define the features, structure and metrics for the new JOIN Plan. What began as a basic dashboard became a complete training companion with Home, Calendar, Performance and Progress pages available on desktop and mobile in multiple languages. Once the direction was clear, the real work began.
Turning feedback into a complete product
Building JOIN Plan was a team effort from the start. We translated your feedback into the overall product direction and defined what each feature needed to achieve. From there, Lars, our Product Designer, turned those requirements into a clear and intuitive experience:
“Designing JOIN Plan has been an exciting challenge. I led the UX, layout and visual style guide, building on the design language from the JOIN iOS and Android apps to make everything feel immediately familiar while opening up new possibilities on the web.”
Adding more data, graphs and functionality could easily have made JOIN Plan feel overwhelming. Throughout the design process, we kept returning to the same question: how can we give athletes more depth without making the product harder to use?
For Lars, the result strikes that balance:
“What I’m most proud of is that, despite the added complexity, JOIN Plan still feels like JOIN. Recognisable, intuitive and exactly what our users know and love.”
At the same time, our developers were working to bring those designs and ideas to life. Bob, one of our Software Developers, helped connect the site to the JOIN backend and made sure the code behind it remained reliable and maintainable. Every activity, workout, record, projection and graph needs to receive the right data and display it correctly. JOIN Plan also needs to handle years of training history while allowing you to filter, compare and analyse it in different ways.
One of Bob’s favourite additions is the option to explore power after completing a certain amount of work:
“I love the power graphs after a certain number of kilojoules. As more of an endurance rider, it’s nice to see those numbers and compare them with my previous, (and better self).”
Many more people contributed by building the systems behind the experience, reviewing features, testing different versions, fixing issues, preparing multiple languages and getting everything ready for launch.
As Bob puts it:
“While keeping the JOIN style and idea in place, I think we’ve added some really nice value for our users and for those who like to dive deeper into their training history and future. I know I’ll be using it quite a bit myself to see what’s possible, while I put in my training hours.”
Now, let me show you what all that work created.

Home: everything you need today
The Home page answers one question first: are you ready to train today?
It brings together your Readiness, Today’s workout, current Fitness and Fatigue, eFTP and Recent activities. Instead of searching through different screens, you can immediately see how you are doing and what is planned next. It is everything you need before clipping in, all in one place.
Calendar: your complete plan in one place
One of the most common requests during the beta was a better way to see the entire training plan. The new Calendar lets you browse your full activity history and every scheduled workout through to the end of your current plan. Open a completed activity to analyse it, or look ahead and check all the details of an upcoming workout.
This gives every session more context. You can see how hard workouts, endurance rides and recovery days fit together as JOIN builds towards your goal.
Performance: explore your engine
The Performance page lets you take a deeper look at what you can produce on the bike.
Your power curve shows how much power you can sustain across different durations, from a five-second sprint to a five-hour ride. Use the filters to compare different periods and see how your performance has changed over time.
You can also analyse how your power holds up after completing a certain number of kilojoules. Your strongest numbers when fresh do not tell the entire story, especially if you are training for long rides or events. What you can still produce after several hours can be just as important.
Your best efforts are collected in a ranked list of records, making it easy to find and compare your strongest performances.
Progress: see where your training is taking you
Progress is not always visible from one workout to the next. It becomes much clearer when you step back and look at the longer journey.
The Progress page lets you follow your most important metrics across your entire time with JOIN:
Fitness: What all your training over the past weeks has built up to. Being fit isn’t the same as being ready to perform, which is what Form measures. You can be very fit and very tired at once.
Fatigue: What your training of the past few days has left in your legs. Fatigue isn’t a bad sign. It’s the cost of building fitness, and it fades faster than fitness does.
Form: What’s left when you subtract Fatigue from Fitness. It’s your readiness to perform. High Form means you’re fresh, low Form means the training is still sitting in your legs.
Level: JOIN’s overall indication of your cycling fitness
eFTP: JOIN’s estimate of your Functional Threshold Power
You can see how each metric has developed and where your current training plan is projected to take it. This helps you look beyond daily fluctuations and understand the direction in which your training is moving.
Your training, wherever you need it
JOIN Plan gives you the complete experience on both desktop and mobile. Every feature, from your Readiness and today’s workout to your full Calendar, power curves and Progress- is available on either device. Whether you are checking your plan before a ride or diving deeper into your data, there is no need to switch screens. Your complete training picture is always available wherever you are.

How to access JOIN Plan
Go to plan.join.cc on your desktop or mobile device.
On mobile, tap the login button and continue through the JOIN app. On desktop, scan the QR code using the phone on which JOIN is installed. Once signed in, you can move between Home, Calendar, Performance and Progress to explore your training.
You will need an active JOIN account and training plan to use JOIN Plan.
Built by our team, shaped by you
JOIN Plan is very different from the one-page dashboard in the beta phase. Your feedback gave us the direction. Our product and design work turned that direction into a clear experience. Our developers connected it to your training data and built the technology behind every activity, graph and projection.
It took the work of a complete team to create something that still feels simple when you open it. We were building a product specifically for the JOIN athlete. And... in all honesty, also for ourselves. In the end we are also avid users of JOIN ourselves.
I’m incredibly proud of what everyone involved has created, and I’m excited for you to experience it. The new JOIN Plan is available now. Visit plan.join.cc and explore your complete training picture.
