Your fitness, made measurable

The JOIN Level is a unique and comprehensive way to track your cycling fitness. It shows how well trained you are, how you are progressing, and how you compare to other cyclists. We created the JOIN Level to simplify the science. While metrics like CTL and ATL offer valuable insights, they can feel complex and disconnected

The JOIN Level brings it all together, distilling your training data into one clear, actionable number. So instead of juggling charts and formulas, you can focus on what really matters: improving your ride.

You can view your level on the second screen of the training dashboard and share it with friends.

A Score from Zero to Fifty

In JOIN, your fitness level ranges from 0 to 50, with 0 to 5 representing a beginner who is new to cycling or returning after a long break, and 50 reflecting the fitness of a world-class cyclist at peak condition, such as a Tour de France rider. The higher your level, the better your endurance, strength, and ability to handle training load. This score is based on your workout history, power and heart rate data, and consistency, and it helps tailor your training plan to match your current capacity.

How It Is Calculated

Your JOIN Level reflects your long-term fitness, not just how well you ride on any single day. It is based on three key elements:

  • Long-term training consistency

  • The maximum power you can maintain over one hour, adjusted for your body weight

  • How much training data is available and how recent it is

These components create a realistic picture of your current fitness and help shape your training journey.

Smart Tracking and Real Progress

As you train, JOIN estimates improvements in your fitness without requiring frequent formal tests. While traditional power tests can be demanding, JOIN calculates changes based on your workout data. For the most accurate results, regularly update your weight and the maximum power figure. Power meter data provides the highest accuracy, but heart rate data can also be used.

Understanding Level Changes

If you take rest days, reduce your training load, or prepare for an event, your level might drop slightly. This is normal and does not mean your performance is decreasing. In many cases, reduced fatigue leads to improved results.

If your level stops increasing, it usually means you have reached the highest possible score based on your current fitness and available training time. To increase your level further, you would need to increase the time you can train. If that is not possible, JOIN will still create the most effective plan for your current situation.

How the JOIN Level Stacks Up Against Other Fitness Metrics

While platforms like Strava, Intervals.icu, CoachCat, and TrainerRoad offer valuable insights, they often rely on complex, fragmented metrics that can be difficult to interpret. JOIN changes that. The JOIN Level distills critical training data into one clear, easy-to-understand number without charts or guesswork. It simplifies the science behind CTL, ATL, and training stress into a single, actionable score that tells you exactly where you stand and how you're progressing. Whether you're chasing a podium or just want to get fitter, JOIN Level gives you the clarity and confidence to train smarter, not harder.

Your Progress, Your Way

Your JOIN Level helps you stay on track, even when life changes. Whether your score increases, holds steady, or drops slightly, JOIN continues to guide your training and adjust your goals so you can get the most out of every ride.
