Hot weather means more sweating and more risk of dehydration. Try to drink between 500 and 750 ml of fluids per hour, and even more if you’re really working hard. Don’t rely on thirst alone- sip often, and mix in electrolyte drinks to replace minerals like sodium, potassium, and magnesium. It’s a simple shift that makes a big difference.
2. Don’t Forget Sunscreen
A long ride under the sun can quickly turn into a sunburn if you’re not protected. Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen before you roll out, and don’t forget those often-missed spots like your ears and the back of your neck. Lightweight gear with built-in UV protection can add an extra layer of defence, and a cap under your helmet helps protect your scalp without adding heat.
